| FANG Kicks Off New Year With Donation
By Marie Gilmore
FishHawk Area
Networking Group, a group of more than 100 FishHawk Ranch residents and business
owners wanted to do something to give back to the community. So, the group
‘passed the hat’ at one of its bi-monthly networking sessions and charged member
and Usborne Books representative, Christine Ans, with finding a worthy school to
accept $600 worth of book donations.
The group chose
Gibsonton Elementary School to receive the books. “We appreciate the donation,”
said Gibsonton principal Donna Marra. “These books will be well received by our
students.”
Ans, also a local
Girl Scout Leader, is proud of her networking group and looks forward to more
fundraisers throughout the year.

FANG kicked off its
new year with a welcome meeting place at the Palmetto Club and a new invitation
policy for members. Current residents are welcome to join anytime and
non-resident local businesses can join by invitation by a current member.
Membership renewal is $75 for the year and new members pay $100. The cost
includes access to two major business events in the community including the
upcoming FANG Family Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 24, 2-5 p.m. at
FishHawk’s Park Square. The event is free and open to the public and will
feature more than 35 local business booths with samples, giveaways and
entertainment for the kids.
In addition,
families will follow clues and scavenger around Park Square and, once complete,
will turn in their entries for prizes.
The Scavenger Hunt
is sponsored by the Brandon Times/St. Pete Times, Osprey Observer Community
Newspapers, Chick-fil-A, Carvel and Formaggio’s Pizzeria. For more information,
attend an upcoming FANG meeting the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at
the Palmetto Club located at 17400 Dorman Road, Lithia. For more information
